Walter's Crisis: Part 2 was the fifth episode of Season 5 of  Maude, and the 97th overall episode in the series. Directed by Hal Cooper, the episode, which was developed for TV as a teleplay written by Arthur Julian from a story written by Donald King, originally aired on CBS-TV on October 18, 1976. It was the second part of a three part episode story arc.

Since Walter's loan fell through, he finds himself unemployed and out of money. He is depressed and nothing seems to help him.


Part 2 of three part story. Three weeks have passed since Walter declared bankruptcy and he finds himself battling a poor job market as well as well as age discrimination on top of that. Walter's depression continues and this leads to impotence, which Maude tries to cure. However, she may have a bigger problem on her hands when Walter goes over the edge and swallows a bottle of sleeping pills.
