Viv's Dog was the sixth episode of Season 4 of  Maude, and the 75th overall episode in the series. Directed by Hal Cooper, the episode, which was written as a teleplay by Pamela Herbert Chais from a story penned by Mike Milligan and Jay Moriarty, originally aired on CBS-TV on October 20, 1975.

Synopsis[]

Vivian and Arthur go on holiday and leave Vivian's dog in the care of Maude. The dog passes away, leaving Maude to feel guilty and unsure how to break the news to a distraught Vivian.

Storyline[]

When Vivian and Arthur go out of town on a vacation, Vivian leaves her dog, Chuck in Maude's care. However, when Chuck unexpectedly passes away, Maude must break the news to Vivian but fears Vivian will blame her for Chuck's death.
