Synopsis
Archie's union is finally able to negotiate a contract with Pendergast Tool & Die, ending the strike. In the union's deal - the workers still get shortchanged in accepting a flat pay rate over 3 years in the deal, instead of a cost of inflation raise escalator, which would have given them possibly much higher wages over the duration, though.
Summary
Archie's union finally negotiates a contract with his company that the workers ratify. When Mike finds out the terms - a flat pay rate for the next three years - he tells Archie that his union should have turned down the offer and started to fight for a cost-of-living escalator, especially with the onset of sky-high inflation. Archie, however ignores "The Meathead", and is just glad that the strike has ended.
Note: Part 4 of a four-part story arc concerning the impact of a strike at Archie's workplace on the Bunker family. Sherman Hemsley (as George Jefferson), James Cromwell (as Stretch Cunningham) both appear in this episode.
