Synopsis[]
hree weeks into the strike, there seems to be no progress between Archie's union and company representatives; in fact, negotiations on both sides seem to be getting worse. With Mike's tutoring jobs only bringing in very little money, Edith decides the Bunkers need some real income, and does so by getting a cashier's job at Jefferson Cleaners.
Summary[]
Three weeks into the strike, there is still no progress between Archie's striking worker's union and Pendergast Tool & Die representatives; in fact, negotiations on both sides seem to be at a complete standstill, with no side budging in their demands. In fact, things seem to be worsening. With Mike's tutoring jobs only bringing in pocket change (only $25 a week!), Edith, to Archie's emphatic objections, decides the Bunkers need some real income in the home in the meantime, while Archie's still out of work, so she does so by landing a job with Jefferson Cleaners, with the help of Louise.
