Synopsis
Archie's old buddy, Eddie Frazier, has amassed a fortune in the used car trade. However, Eddie's quest for money comes at a huge price: his estranged family wants nothing to do with him.
Summary
Archie's old army platoon buddies prepare a reunion for the most successful of their ranks, self-made millionaire Eddie Frazier (played by William Windom), who later drops by the Bunker home with a special gift for Archie. Figuring that Eddie will purge Mike, who personally resents Eddie's self-made wealth and also questions what he has done to "help his fellow man", of some of his "pinko" anti-capitalist notions, Archie invites Eddie home for dinner. Mike overhears Eddie's telephone conversation with his son and learns that he is estranged from his son, who hasn't spoken to him in years. Realizing that Eddie is a man with only material wealth but with virtually no family, he refuses to tell Archie, not wanting to disappoint him of his view of old buddy Eddie.
