About Paul[]
Archie, who remembered Paul as a nice, clean-cut kid who grew up with Gloria, who once seemingly had dreams of being an electrical engineer, is now an aimless hippie with long hair; when he appears at the Bunkers' doorstep, Archie asks "Who and what is "this", and why is "it" at my front door?"
Archie becomes outraged after Mike invited Paul and his girlfriend Robin (Jenny Sullivan), who never likes to say a word, but as Paul says "speaks with her eyes", to spend the night in the Bunker's living room, over Archie's strong objections, since the two are unmarried.
Reluctantly, Archie caves in and is forced to allow the two to spend the night, as Paul's friend, Jeff Walker (Corey Fischer), who has a van, and whose father invited Paul to stay in his home, says that his dad would also object to an unmarried couple sleeping over.
