Morton Lachman was an American comedy writer and producer. He worked for Bob Hope for more than twenty years and subsequently produced several sitcoms such as All in the Family and Kate & Allie. He was also the co-creator and executive producer of Gimme a Break!
He won two Emmy's one in 1978 for All in the Family and another for an episode of The ABC Afternoon Playbreak.
He passed away three days before his 91st birthday because of a heart attack.
