Edith Gets a Mink is the 20th episode of the second season and the 33rd overall episode of All in the Family. The Season 2 episode first aired on CBS-TV on February 12, 1972. Directed by John Rich, the teleplay was co-written by David Pollock, Elias Davis and Don Nicholl from a story which was originally written by Pollock and Davis.

Synopsis[]
Edith gets a mink cape from her wealthy cousin, and Archie objects, demanding she return it. However when the cape is damaged by the cleaners, Archie does an about-face and schemes to keep the insurance check.
Summary[]
Archie's pride is hurt when Edith is given an expensive mink cape by her cousin Amelia. At first ordering Edith to return the gift, Archie changes his mind when he realizes that he stands to collect $300 by selling the cape. Unfortunately, there's a pesky spaghetti sauce stain that Edith accidentally put on it, which just wouldn't come out.
When Jefferson Cleaners accidentally destroys the mink, the Bunkers break the news to the DeKuypers. Archie, who still greedily seeks to collect the $300, tries to pressure Edith, who was given a reimbursement check of the said amount which she receives from George and Louise, to keep the check, until he finds out that the Jeffersons made the check out to Cousin Amelia, who arrives with Russ just in time for their visit to Queens, much to the chagrin of Archie!
