About Cas[]
An ex-Marine lieutenant turned florist, Cas raised Mike from a very young age, after his parents were killed in a car crash. Cas also has another brother named Alex. When Cas comes to Queens to attend the wedding between Mike and Gloria, he greets Archie with Colombian cigars as a present. Cas, unlike Archie, is very supportive of any of his nephew Mike's endeavors and also, approves of Mike and Gloria's desire to marry, even greeting them with several wedding gifts as well. Cas, himself being Polish, does his best to warm up to the bigoted thinking Archie, who often refers to Polish people/Polish-Americans as "Polacks" which he always calls Mike derisively and in the same time, tries to quell the tension between the liberal Mike, his nephew and the conservative Archie's views on race and ethnicity.
